「臓器」と聞くと、ちょっとグロテスクなイメージ。血を見ただけでも倒れそうになる私などからすると、あまりまじまじと近くでは見たくないものです。

ところがカナダのトロントに住むアリ・ハリソン（Ali Harrison）さんが作り出すのは、美しく神聖にすら見える臓器たち。

どういうことかというと、アーティストである彼女はナイフを使って紙や木の板に心臓や肺、子宮といった臓器をデザインした切り絵を完成させるんです。あまりの繊細さに、臓器というよりも何か幾何学的な模様のようにすら見えてくるほど！　まさにカミワザとも言える芸術作品です。……紙、だけに！

【どんなふうに作っているの？】


このすばらしい切り絵はどんな風に作られているんでしょうか？　アリさんはまず臓器の輪郭を描き、次に内側をフリーハンドでさまざまな形に切り抜いていくそう。そのカッティングはどれも本当に細やかで繊細。各作品は完成までに20時間～60時間もかかるのだとか！

Back earlier this year when my lung piece was just a work in progress. Feeling inspired today by the Creative Mornings talk by my friend @chris_rouleau (see the play by play in our IG story!). "Get 'er done" was one of the "confessions" he spoke about – and it's been something I've been working on this year. Happy to report that mid way through February I have already accomplished several of the goals I set for myself this year – including completing 3 new papercutting pieces (like this one!). Forcing myself to just sit down to DO WORK and just get things done has been crucial.
